Engaging with new grant partners
During the Trump administration, USAID developed a new federal grants engagement program that Freedom2Care had advocated for with USAID officials. The New Partnerships Initiative (NPI) was designed to help smaller, including faith-based, organizations to more readily engage with the U.S. Government in federal aid programs.
The New Partnerships Initiative aims to "equip and empower new and underutilized development partners to maximize the impact of American tax dollars. The heart of the NPI is to reach organizations that have limited or no recent experience in working with, and receiving funds from, USAID, which can include U.S. and local community-based and faith-based partners."
